Terra Mitica park is undoubtably the biggest amusement park in Benidorm
as well of one of the finest in Europe. Terra Mitica is an amusement park of massive proportions and is chock full of gut-wrenching rides sure to elicit screams of fear or delight.
On entering the park one travels back in time to the ancient world as the Park is divided into five distinct time zones; Rome, Greece, Iberia, The Islands and Egypt. Each one of the five zones has it's own distinct rides and attractions. Now, don't panic at the thought of the rides, if that's not your cup of tea then there are plenty of gentler rides available too, including 15 rides just for the little ones, as well as some superb water rides that are a lot gentler.
The rides are constantly updated and new ones appear almost every year, making the park unique and ang up to date. Two of the newest rides are "Inferno" - a truly terrifying roller coaster that launches at 60mph and spins like a ball, and the wonderful "Infinnito" which stands at 100 metres tall. Infinnito gives you a wonderful opportunity to see the whole of Benidorm
and surrounding countryside from a birde-eye perspective, especially cool at night. Some of the rides carry an extra charge (on top of the entry fee), but are well worth the extra expense (like the night-time view from the top of Infinnito).
The water rides will soak you to your skin, so remember to bring some towels and maybe a change of clothes if you're going to give them a go. Sun screen is a must too, as the sun here can can get very hot, and this is a whole day out for all the family and little ones are especially prone to sun burn.
The park has 20 resturants cafeterias and snack bars, all situated through the different zones, so there is no shortage of refreshments to be had. It's worth remembering that whilst you can go on any ride as often as you wish, that the park is very large and you won't be able to go on every ride in just one day. If time permits, it may be a better idea to go for the two day ticket to ensure that you can see it all.
Prices for the park are as follows:
Adult - €33 (1 day) €47 (2 day) and €20 (afternoon)
Junior/Senior - €25 (1 day) €34 (2 day) and €16 (afternoon)
It's a good idea to consult the parks website for updated opening times, but generally it is open from 10.00 - 20.00. This really is one of Benidorm
s most popular attractions, and no holiday to this part of Spain is complete without a visit to Terra Mitica.
