The landscape around the area of Portitxol is that of clasic mediterranean.
Within the bay, created by the Cap Prim and the Cap Negre, the island of Portitxol is situated.
In the area of Cap Prim, were the soil is mainly clay, remains of vineyards can be seen.
Today they are abandoned, although some stretches of vegetation have been declared as Micro Botanical Reserves by the Environmental Council, and wild lavender, rosemary, thyme and white pine trees grow here.
The small bay of the Portitxol Cross has wonderful conditions as an anchorage area, this did not pass unnoticed throughout history as many Roman artifacts as well as remains from other civilizations from the 3rd and 4th Centuries have been found.
