Dehesa de Campoamor is a new development by Spanish standards, work only commencing on the area in the late 1950s. It forms part of Orihuela Costa and is a large urbanisation catering for mass tourism, both Spanish and foreign. Some may say the area suffers from over development, others that they are merely catering for the many visitors attracted to this part of the Alicante province.
It has a very nice harbour and all the bars, shops and restaurants you would expect to find in a busy modern resort. There are some nice beaches to be found although some are man made following the large scale coastal development. In particular the Playa de la Glea is extremely popular, holding the coveted “Blue Flag”, and has excellent facilities.
Golf courses are located nearby and access links are excellent with the massive urbanisations of Torrevieja only 10kms away.
